Day 01: Saturday Arrive Paro. Meeting & assistance on arrival. Briefing and introduction. Welcome Dinner. Overnight in Paro. Day 02: Sunday Paro Valley Excursion We spend the whole day sightseeing. Visit the Kyichu Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan. Bike to Drugyel Dzong built in 1647-49 to commemorate the Bhutanese victory over the Tibetan invaders. Stop for refreshments along the way. Visit the National Museum and the Rigpung Dzong. Evening Drive to Thimpu. Overnight Thimpu. Day 03: Monday Thimpu Valley Exploration Bike to Tangu and Cheri, stopping on the way to visit the High Courts, Tashicho Dzong, which houses the offices of the king and the Jey-Kenpo (chief Abbot). Also visit Dechencholing Palace on the way back. Stop along the way for refreshments. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten, which was built in the memory of late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Bike to the painting school and National Library. Evening Cultural Program and folk music. Overnight Thimpu. Day 04: Tuesday Thimpu ~ Punakha Valley Drive or bike to Dochula, 22km from Thimpu, then on to the Punakha Valley. Pack Lunch and Refreshments will be provided on the way. Overnight Camp on the banks of the Punakha River. Day 05: Wednesday Punakha Valley ~ Phobjikha Valley Head off along the dirt track to Wangdi. Stop for lunch at the Wangdi. If time allows we will bike as far as Garzikha Zam then drive to Nobding and bike uphill to the ridge and then have a screamer of a downhill through the beautiful glacial Phobjikha Valley. Refreshments and Pack Lunch will be provided on the way. Visit the Gangtey Monastery, the largest Nyimgmapa Monastery in Bhutan. Overnight in Tented camps or Lodge at Phobjikha Valley. Day 06: Thursday Gangtey/Phobjikha - Wangdiphodrang - Thimpu After breakfast explore the fascinating valley of Phobjikha Bike to Wangdiphodrang. Refreshments and Pack Lunch will be provided on the way. Drive to Thimpu. Overnight Thimpu. Day 07: Friday Thimpu - Paro We have a lovely 65km bike ride ahead of us today on pot-hole free tarmac roads. Refreshments and Lunch will be provided on the way. Evening Farewell Dinner. Overnight Hotel. Day 08: Saturday Leave Paro Fly Paro to Kathmandu or optional programs. TRIP REQUIREMENTS GROUP SIZE: Min 4 pax, plus Nepali guide-medically trained and experienced, all food and accommodation on full board basis (twin sharing rooms), support vehicle, Bhutanese guide and extra Nepali MTB guide if numbers dictate.
