XIV Asian Championship
Once again,
ImageNepal’s diverse terrain is what mountain bikers’ dreams are made of. Natural topography and spectacular landscape with many tracks and trails make the country an ideal venue for mountain biking. Centuries-old dirt roads and mountain viewing trails along the entire length of country are suitable for mountain biking in Nepal.

Nepal Mountain Bike Association was established in 1995 to promote and develop Mountain biking sports and activities in Nepal. Looking at the different aspects of cycling, the association is renamed as Nepal Cycling Association in 2006.

Since it’s establishment it has been affiliated with Asian Cycling Association (ACC) and International Cycling Union (UCI).

To promote cycling as a whole NCA is organizing national MTB championship almost every year.

This year NCA has supported Second Yak Attack Race, a high altitude extreme championship organized by Extreme World Challenge in Annapurna Circuit and 5th Thuraya TAAN MTB Championship.

Asian Mountain Bike Championship is the highest event for mountain bike sports in Asia. This championship is held annually under the supervision of Asian Cycling Confederation and International Cycling Union. Nepal Cycling Association was trying to host this event in the country since 2002 and the 2006 ACC Conference has unanimously decided to award Nepal to host 2008 MTB Championship in Nepal.

2008 MTB Championship expects around 200 bikers and affiliated people from around 20 Asian countries.
